If you need a Driver’s license replacement, you’ve just moved to New Mexico, or you’re getting your license for the first time, we’ll do all we can to make sure you get your new NM driver’s license quickly, so you can get driving right away. MVD Now is here to make getting your license quick and easy.

If you are applying for a first-time driver license in New Mexico, you will be issued a temporary license while their regular license is being processed and mailed.

IMPORTANT NM DRIVER’S LICENSE (REAL ID COMPLIANT) INFORMATION REGARDING NAME CHANGES

    • If your identity document (passport, birth certificate, social security card, etc.) contains your CURRENT legal name, you do not need to provide proof of a name change.
    • If your proof of identity document does not contain your current full legal name, you must show different official documents that fully reflect any name change you’ve had. These official documents can be a court order, marriage certificate, divorce decree, adoption records, etc.
    • If you’ve had multiple name changes, you will need to present official documents for each name change. All divorce decrees must reference the maiden name or former name before marriage.

If by chance you do not have any of the above documents or need more clarity, we’d love to help you. Please call 505-388-2757 to speak to one of our helpful and trained staff here at MVD Now.
